Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters

Sunday, 10 February 2013

These lip butters have been out for a while and I finally got around to getting a few. For me, I've never really been a huge lipstick collector as I rarely wear them, but I've heard great things about these so I had to try them! They are currently 3 for 2 at Boots which is a bonus!

There are 20 colours in the range from baby pinks and peaches to deep berry reds. There is literally a colour to suit everyone.

All the lip butters have delicious sounding names! The colours I picked up where Crème brulee, Sweet tart and Candy apple (£7.99)

Left to right: Candy apple, Sweet tart & Crème brulee
The first thing that excites me is the packaging. I am in love with the quilted effect tube and the colour co-ordination.  You can easily find the colour your after in your collection. They are just gorgeous to look at! Well done Revlon!

Crème brulee
Crème brulee is a sheer light brown with peach shimmer and warm undertones.

The colour is very sheer and enhances my natural lip colour and gives my lips a warm flush. This colour will look different on everyone depending on your natural lip colour. This is a great everyday colour and would suit everyone.

Sweet tart
Sweet tart is a bright hot pink with warm undertones.

This colour is sheer but still gives your lips that hot pink pop of colour without being streaky. It is easily buildable for a more intense colour. This will be my go to spring shade I think!

Candy apple

Candy apple is a warm bright orangey red (Just like a candy apple!)

This colour is sheer but buildable and gives your lips a bright red flush. Even when this colour wears off you are still left with that just bitten wash of colour. This would be great for people who are scared of bright lipsticks and find them too harsh.

The texture of these lip butters is incredibly creamy. They glide over your lips like a dream and leave behind a glossy sheen that isn't greasy or sticky. None of these shades settled into the lines or cracks of your lips. They feel like a lip treatment rather than a lipstick and give my lips feeling really moisturised.  Because of their high moisture content they hardly last an hour which is the only downside to these. But in all honesty I don’t mind re-applying because they feel so amazing!

I think I want them all!
