Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Saturday, 9 March 2013

I had been searching for a holy grail bronzer for quite some time and hadn't come across anything that I couldn't live without. I had seen so many bloggers rave about Benefit's Hoola and seen it had won countless beauty awards for being a best seller, I decided I had to see if I was missing out!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Hoola comes in a square cardboard box with a folding magnetic lid, and a real white haired brush for application that you can store in the box.

I like the bamboo design on the box it makes you think of  being on holiday on the beach, which is appropriate considering as your trying to recreate that holiday glow!

I much prefer the new flip up lid design on all of Benefit's blushers and bronzers. Having previously owned a few of Benefits blushers I always used to lose the lid! I also found that it used to fall off if I ever carried the product around in my bag or when travelling.

The brush that comes with the powder is made from real white hair. I did notice some fall out, but it was only slight. The brush is a good shape for a strong contour. If you sweep the brush length ways first to get your contoured line, and then turn it side ways to blend out any harsh edges. I prefer to use a MAC 168 for my contouring but whilst travelling or for touch ups I would definitely use this brush.

The formula is completely matte with a silky finish. I would describe the colour as a warm caramel brown.
The pigmentation is great and you only need to use a small amount to get a warm glow on the skin.

What I love about Hoola is how perfect the brown is. Bronzer can sometimes be too orange or too muddy. I think this is the perfect balance of brown and peachy tones.

It would also work for a variety of skin tones from very pale to olive skin tones and maybe slightly darker.
The formula is very buildable and doesn't look cakey or too powdery.

In all honesty I can't really find anything bad to say about this product. The colour is perfect, the pigmentation is perfect and I can see why people rave about it. I don't think I can ever be without it!

Have you tried Hoola?
