Maybelline FIT Me Foundation

Sunday, 24 March 2013

This is Maybelline's newest foundation to hit the market. I know I am a little late in trying it but that's because I have been loving Revlon's Color Stay so much that I haven't been using anything else!

FIT Me is a new range of foundation, concealer and powder from Maybelline. It's their first gel foundation with no waxes or fillers and is meant to merge with your natural skin tone with SPF18. Their foundation, concealer and powder fit together using a number system so its easy to find shades that match.

This review is on the foundation only. I chose the shade 125 for me.

I like how they have separated their colour chart into warm and cool tones. If you already know what category your skin falls into then it makes it easier to find your shade. If you didn't know then it also educates you!

FIT Me Foundation with pump dispenser

I like the packaging of this foundation. The design is sleek and minimal with only the shade number on the tube and FIT Me on the cap.
I also love the fact that it has a pump! When foundations have no pump I find that the bottle gets so messy and you always end up using more than you need.

I usually go for cream foundations so it was nice to try out a gel. I did find the consistency a little watery. This foundation blends really well into the skin and leaves quite a matte finish with a slight glow. I thought it looked very natural and evened out the redness on my skin perfectly. I also loved the fact it felt like I had nothing on my skin.
I have combination and this foundation started to look a little flaky on dry patches after about 3 hours and my T zone looked a little oily. If you have oily skin I would recommend using a powder on top.
This foundation isn't as long wearing as I hoped although a little powder did help this.

The coverage is quite light but it is buildable to a medium.

I would like to have seen a few more shades to chose from. I can just about get away with 125 as it is a little bit dark for me but 115 was too light. However for the price it wouldn't break the bank to buy two different shades and mix them together!

Overall I think this is a great drug store foundation if your looking for something with a natural light coverage.

Have you tried this foundation?
