Spring/ Summer Makeup Trends For 2013

Saturday, 2 March 2013

With spring just around the corner its time to ditch the vampy winter shades and inject some colour into your make-up!
Here I'm going to be talking you through the top spring trends from the catwalks that you can start wearing now!

Matte Lips

Matte lips where seen all over the runways with the likes of Burberry and Prada going for rich crimson colours. Moschino and Giles went for more of a pinky pop of colour and all kept the rest of the face bare and natural.

Glowing Skin

This spring is all about the no make-up look. The skin should be the primary feature in this look. You want to try and create a flawless base but still keeping that dewy inner glow. This was seen on the runways of Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen and Versace to name but a few. To re-create this glow use a highlighter on your cheekbones, brow bone and down the bridge of your nose. MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle in my favourite!

Greens & Blues On The Eyes

Whether it was a bold flick of liner or an all over wash of colour on the lid, blues and greens are the must have spring shade for the eyes. Go as neon or as subtle as you want! Michael Kors and Moschino went for graphic eyeliner and Dior went for full on bold shadow and even added crystals. To incorporate a bit of colour into your make-up routine use a coloured eyeliner in your waterline and smudge out for a subtle pop of colour.

Bold Brows

Put down the tweezers...bold brows are still in! Defined but bushy brows are spring hottest accessory with the likes of Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs and Jason Wu sporting the trend. Run a brow powder or use feathery strokes with a brow pencil through your brows to create the look. Finish off with a brow gel or clear mascara and your good to go!
