- Lash-catching brush grabs every lash for perfect separation. No clumps!

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara

Plastic bristle applicator

The brush has plastic bristles that taper towards the end of the wand. I've said in previous posts that I've never been a lover of plastic mascara wands however the most recent mascaras I've bought seem to be changing my opinion of them!

The wand is skinny with short bristles which really get between every lash and separates them beautifully. I usually find that the bigger mascara wands have trouble getting to the lashes close to the inner corner of my eye but this brush manages fine.

Before: No mascara
After: With Lash Accelerator Endless mascara

This mascara gave my lashes a real lift from the root and made them appear twice as long! It also separated my lashes without clumping or making them look like spiders legs! It worked great on separating and lengthening my lower lashes too.

You can definitely layer up this mascara for more length. I found you can apply about 4 coats before it starts to clump your lashes together.

I accidently picked up this mascara in brown instead of the intended black, but I'm almost secretly glad I did. The brown colour gives your lashes a more natural look, which is perfect for everyday wear.

Rimmel delivers on pretty much everything it said this mascara would do. For me it didnt give my lashes 99% more length I would say about 50%. Overall I think this is  fantastic mascara. My new favourite! I love the brush shape and the way it made my lashes look. If you like long separated lashes then this is the one for you!

Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids Lipstick- Neon Red, Shocking Coral, Fuchsia Flash

Friday, 12 April 2013

The spring season requires some fun in our makeup, and what better way to add a pop of colour than with a bright lipstick!
I recently picked up a few of the Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks. They have a new collection called the Vivids containing specifically bright colours ranging from baby doll pinks to fiery reds.

Currently priced at £7.19

The colours I chose were Neon Red, Shocking Coral and Fuchsia Flash. I bought Shocking coral first and loved it so much I went back for some more colours (hence why shocking coral looks a little worn in the photos!)

Neon red isn't neon as its name suggests, its simply a bright orange toned red.

Shocking coral is a true coral pink

Fuchsia flash is a bright neon pink with purple undertones

All three of these lipsticks were very saturated in colour and very true to how they appear in the tube. They have a gorgeous glossy sheen to them and felt moisturising on the lips. They wear for up to 6 hours and do leave a slight stain to the lips. All in all they were pleasure to wear! My favourite of all three has to be Fuchsia flash as I don't have another lipstick like this in my collection.

As far as drugstore lipsticks go, I don't think you'll find anything more opaque and bright in colour. I have to say drugstore makeup is really upping their game!

e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Review

Saturday, 6 April 2013

I own four of these Elf mineral shadows and I wanted to give you my thoughts on them!
The colours I own are natural, golden, caffinated and confident. These shadows are all natural and contain no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.

From left to right: Natural, Confident, Golden & Caffinated

There are a total of 28 shades in the collection with a pretty good selection of colours to choose from. All of the shades in the collection are shimmery apart from 5 which are matte.

Firstly the price is amazing. At just £3 each you can't go wrong. Elf are a brand known for their high quality products at low prices with items starting at as little as £1.50. You get 0.85g of product and a tiny amount of shadow goes a long way.

Elf Mineral Eyeshadow

The loose shadow comes in a small round screw top pot with a four hole sifter. This is to prevent the shadow going all over the place and spilling everywhere when you open the lid. I store my eyeshadows upside down to see the colour name at the bottom so most of the product sits at the top. Just be careful when you open them!

Elf Mineral Eyeshadow in Natural
The shade natural is a pinkish champagne colour with gold shimmer.

Elf Mineral Eyeshadow in Golden
Golden is a pale warm gold colour with gold shimmer.

Elf Mineral Eyeshadow in Caffinated
Caffinated is a bronze colour with golden shimmer.

Elf Mineral Eyeshadow in Confident
Confident is a taupe colour with purple undertones and silver shimmer.

The pigmentation of these shadows is fantastic. You only need to put the smallest amount onto your brush. They apply very smoothly and I found the fall out to be minimal. I would recommend using an eye primer underneath these shadows to minimise fall out and to ensure they adhere to your eyelid and last all day. I have worn these shadows several times out clubbing and I found that they lasted really well and didn't settle into the creases in my eye. Some of the shimmer does drop down onto your face after about 5 hours.

These shadows are incredibly versatile and can be used in a variety of ways. You can use them dry for a more sheer everyday look, or wet to intensify the colour and to get a more metallic finish.  You can use more than one shade in the same look as they blend really well together. I have also worn them on top of eyeshadows to add more shimmer. The lighter shades in the collection would work well as highlighters on the inner corners, brow bone and cheek bone areas.

Overall these loose mineral shadows are a fantastic product by Elf. There are so many colours to choose from and play with.
