E.L.F Baked Blush- Rich Rose

Sunday, 18 August 2013

This is my final installment to my little E.l.f haul. Today's post is all about their Baked Blushes. There are four colours in the range Peachy Cheeky, Pinktastic, Passion Pink and Rich Rose. The only one I could get hold of at the time was Rich Rose so that's what I'll be reviewing  and swatching for you today!

E.l.f Cosmetic's say
'The soft and shimmering colour of our Baked Blush creates a natural healthy glow. Baked in an oven, these blushes offer rich pigmentation for a beautiful effect. The long-lasting formula provides a gorgeous, smooth and even application.'

The base colour of Rich Rose has quite a deep bronze tone to it with veins of peachy coral running through it. The blush has a frosty finish with gold shimmer throughout.

This blush has a velvet like texture but does not feel chalky at all. When I applied it to my cheeks the application was very even and smooth. It looks deeper in colour in the pan than it does on as it does on the skin, I found it gave me a really healthy glow and a flush of colour..  The shimmer is not overpowering on the cheeks either. I don't tend to go for shimmery blush's but I really did like the look of this on my skin.

This colour in particular works well for more olive skin tones. If have pale skin I would recommend a paler colour as Rich Rose may make you look a bit muddy.

E.l.f's baked blushes can be compared to MAC's Mineralize Blushes. The texture and formula re very similar as well as the shimmer content. I may get round to a blog post comparing the two.

Overall I think this is a really great blush. I really liked the glow it gave my cheeks without being too shimmery. The warm flush of colour it gives my cheeks makes me look healthy and alive! I've just come back from holiday and this colour compliments my tan beautifully.

I'm looking forward to trying out the other colours in the range when they come back in stock.
