This is my second instalment to my recent E.l.f haul. These are their Long Wear Lip Liners. I picked up three out of five shades in the collection (the only ones that were in stock at the time) Mauve Luxe, Bark and Natural Blush. Each pencil is about 11 cm long and comes with its own sharpener. The length is roughly the same as most drug store/high street pencils. I like the fact that they come with a sharpener as I am forever loosing them!

Mauve Luxe is a darkish pink with some purple undertones. It has some silver shimmer running through it has a slightly metallic finish. This shade would go well with most pink lipsticks as well as pale purples. As it is shimmery it is best suited to lipsticks with a frosted finish.

Bark is a rosy pink with warm brown undertones. This is a very natural colour and gives your lips definition. It is very universal shade and would work well with almost any lipstick. You could also use this on its own to make your lips look fuller.

Natural blush is a mid toned pink shade. This lip liner is best suited to paler pink lipsticks but would also work with nude shades that are more pink toned rather than brown tones.

The formula of these pencils is quite creamy which makes them really nice to apply. They don't drag when you apply them to your lips and are fairly pigmented. Out of the three shades Bark is the most pigmented and I would say Natural Blush is the least, I had to swipe the pencil back and forth to get the desired affect. I'm not too keen on the shimmer in Mauve Luxe I prefer matte lip liners but that is my personal preference. My favourite colour out of the three is Bark. I think this shade is fantastic! Because its so natural looking it looks great with any lip colour. I also like to wear it all over with a touch of gloss on top for a 'your lips but better look'. I wouldn't consider them the most long wearing pencils but they do last around four hours and don't smudge that easily.

One thing that I found really annoying about these lip liners is their lids! They do not stay on! They slip off so easily that they would make a real mess in your make-up bag. I would also like to see more of a colour range, maybe a deep plum colour and a bright red?

Overall I think these lip liners are pretty good. For only £1.50 you can't complain! They keep your lipstick in place and give your lips definition. I would say Bark is the best shade out of them all because its so universal!

  1. OMG! I LOVE these liners! I bought Bitter last year and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't dry and tugging like I expected a $1 liner to be, lol! I just recently bought the rest of the shades to try out. Great post girl! :)

    1. They are so great! For the price you can't possibly go wrong! x
