theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer

I have owned the Mary-lou Manizer for a little while now, I bought it while I was in Las Vegas in June. theBalm are a relatively unknown cosmetic company over here in the UK so I was excited to try something out from them. The company was launched in 2004 by Marissa Shipman who realized there were a few simple products she needed to help her look and feel glam all the time-and if she needed them other women needed them too.  All of theBalms products are paraben and cruelty free with added anti-ageing ingredients!

The first thing that attracted me to this product was the packaging. For me, this has to be some of the cutest packaging I have ever seen! All of theBalm's products have a retro pin-up girl style which I think is adorable and very unique.

The Mary-lou Manizer is a multi-use highlighter for the face. It is champagne coloured with gold tones to it. This is incredibly shimmery but doesn't have any glitter to it. This is one of the of the most pigmented highlighters I have ever used. The picture of my finger is the pigmentation after me tapping the pan very lightly. You need the smallest amount on your brush to get great pay-off on the cheeks. Even though its pigmented it doesn't look overpowering on the cheeks or highlight the appearance of pores.

The compact contains a full sized mirror which is great for touch ups on the go. You shouldn't need to re-apply too often as this lasts for about 5-6 hours. This highlighter has so many uses. You can use it on the tops of the cheeks, brow bone, centre of forehead, along the bridge of your nose (not recommended if you have an oily t-zone) and even the cupids bow. This is a great little trick to give the appearance of a fuller lip. Another great full lip tip is to dab a touch in the centre of your lip after lip gloss or lipstick. The Mary-lou Manizer is also a great neutral shimmery eye shadow too. It looks beautiful on nearly all skin types especially if you have olive skin.

I own so many highlighters but in my opinion a girl can never have too many! For me this has to be one of my favourite highlighters I own. I love gold tones on my skin as I think they are the most flattering.

If you are in the US you can purchase this from your nearest Walgreen's (where I bought mine) or if you are in the UK from the online store Feel Unique where it's currently 20% off!

Have you tried the Mary-lou Manizer? What do you think of theBalm's prodcucts?
