RiRi Hearts MAC Powder Blush Duo- Hibiscus Kiss

Monday, 7 October 2013

After patiently waiting for the launch of the RiRi Hearts MAC Fall Collection to drop here in the UK, I was lucky enough to get hold of this little beauty. The Powder Blush Duo in Hibiscus Kiss.

Now lets talk about the packaging. The compact is a beautiful rose gold casing with Rihanna's neon pink logo etched on the top. The compact also has a full sized mirror in the lid. For me, this is some of the most beautiful limited edition packaging MAC has produced. This item was first released in the RiRi Hearts Summer Collection, however I'm glad I waited to purchase it in this collection as it didn't have the rose gold design. I am a huge fan of anything rose gold if you couldn't tell!

The powder itself is split into two sections. The first and largest section features a matte bronze shade embossed with Rihanna's signature. It is a dark tan shade with warm orange undertones. It has a velvet like texture and when applied to the cheeks it goes on smoothly and evenly. The colour pay off is good and is very buildable. It works well when using it to contour or all over the cheeks to warm up the face. I think is is more suited to paler skin tones but it is buildable enough for darker skin tones to use.

The second smaller section, is a cool toned pinky coral shade. In the pan, the blush has a slight shimmer to it but that seems to be lost when you apply it. The texture is a little stiffer than the bronze shade so you need to work your brush into the product a little harder. This shade is quite sheer but is easily buildable to get the desired pay off you want. Both the bronzer and the blush wore for about seven hours which is on par with MAC's other blushes.

I do really like this little duo. I like swirling my blush brush into both colours for a bronzy pinky flush to my cheeks. This product is definitely more suited to paler skin tones which is good for me as I will be paler in the winter months ahead (sigh).

This duo did sell out, but thankfully it has been restocked online so grab it while you can if you want it!

Stay tuned for more posts on the RiRi Hearts MAC Fall Collection coming this week

  1. The packaging is so cool I really like it! This blush reminds a bit of the Dior Nude Paradise Duos they came out with in the summer. Very pretty!
