Sleek Makeup | i Divine Ultra Matte V2 Darks Eyeshadow Palette

Friday, 22 November 2013

Whilst taking advantage of Superdrug's recent 3 for 2 offer, I picked up my first ever Sleek purchase. The Ultra Matte V2 Eyeshadow Palette caught my eye with it's very fall appropriate shades and I'm a sucker for matte formulas although they are quite tricky to pull off.

Sleek Makeup's packaging is in search of a better word...sleek! I really like the look of the palette. It's compact, light weight and simple. It also has a fabulous full sized mirror in the lid and a dual ended sponge applicator (always hated those things!)

This palette contains mostly dark shades with a lighter and warmer tones for blending purposes. The pigmentation of these shadows varies from each shade. There are some very pigmented shades and other that have less pay off. Villan is the most pigmented out of the bunch and also my favourite. Pillow Talk is the lightest shade and I struggled to get a decent swatch from the pan. The texture of these shadows is very smooth but a little on the chalky side. But again some shades are worse than others. Noir is the most chalky out of the 12 shades and comes off a little more grey than I would have liked.

Overall I think this is a pretty good palette from Sleek. As I said earlier, matte formulas are hard to pull off without becoming chalky. There are some really beautiful colours in this palette Villan, Maple and Fern really stand out to me. I would buy this palette just for those shades.

I am looking forward to trying more from the brand, and I would love your suggestions on what your favourite Sleek products are!
